Jim Hanft & Jake Hill Video...

The final New York City show was last night at Pete's Candy Store. We had a great time! Thanks so much to all who came out late on Sunday night. This morning Jim Hanft & Jake Hill had breakfast together at Jackson Hole in the Upper West Side. The two continued their romantic morning tryst with guitars and pita chips served by none other then Birds On A Wire's biggest supporter Tamar W. (The W stands for widddddilllllppppppp!)

Jim presented Jake with half a song...and Jake helped to finish it. It's called 'Band-Aid' and here is the world wide premier of it:

“Birds On A Wire” To Take Flight
Fred Mills
September 4, 2007

“13 Songwriters, 5 Cities, 1 Purpose”—that’s the motto of an intriguing new compilation and accompanying concert series of up-and-coming American singer-songwriters titled Birds On A Wire, issued and produced by Birds On A Wire Music. The idea is simple: strength through unity and in numbers, and as the musical collective puts it, “We at Birds On A Wire have put together a group of songwriters who are all working together to be heard. Sharing each other's fanbases, performing each other's songs, and setting up shows nationally to strengthen our followings.”

VIPER ROOM - 9.4.07

CACAUW! Birds On A Wire is officially under way. The first of many shows to come was kicked off last night with 3 hours of acoustic music to a packed and boisterous crowd, at the world famous Viper Room in Los Angeles. Fans cheered and sang along from start to finish, while the 6 songwriters kept a steady pace never really letting up.

The night was started brilliantly by Nate Thomas, gracing the stage with his intricate guitar playing and honest vocals. Followed by Jim Hanft who wins the crowd with his blend of heartfelt lyrics mixed with a few that are just downright hilarious. Andy Grammer added his strong open choruses and catchy verses while sweating visibly more then any of the others. Next was Adam Dale whose racing yet under control guitar licks, topped by a voice that didn't miss a note brought a packed crowd to silence. Tim Mcglone came on with his infectious "good ole' Boys" vibe. With the highlight of his set being a cover of 'Stand By Me' which by the end had even the bartender singing-a-long. Closing out the evening was a bluesy, home-grown, harmonica playing Jake Hill. The instantly likable Hill took a crowd that had already seen 2 and half hours of acoustic music and brought something new that they hadn't heard yet. A true feat and testament to his skills.

The energy of the night was like relatives sitting in the living room telling stories, mixed with a very high quality of performance and the stigma of the Sunset Strip. Birds On A Wire is officially off and running bringing a sense of family and companionship to a sometimes ruthless and competitive LA music scene.
